With uni now finished for the year, I am throwing caution to the wind and wearing a double denim look ready for the sunshine! I'm excited to see what the next few months of freedom bring, with a few different ideas and plans in the diary. Hopefully there will be a holiday lookbook on the way, with a trip to Lisbon planned in July!

Another of my recent ASOS purchases was this unusual asymmetric wraparound denim skirt. The fraying and D-ring details are on trend at the moment, along with my denim jacket. This particular denim of the skirt is super soft and comfortable; on me it is slightly loose which means it will be a breathable item in any heat (feeling optimistic). The crop top is another recent purchase, which is a necessity with summer on the way (that's what I tell myself anyway) - I loved the delicate porcelain-esque print and the blue tied everything together well. My lipstick, which is a pretty subtle nude, was a gift from InStyle - Givenchy! How lucky am I?!

BIG thanks to my housemate Daniella who took these fab shots! <3

So last Thursday I officially finished my month-long internship at InStyle magazine, which I can excitedly say was a fantastic experience where I learnt a lot and met some amazing people. I really enjoyed my time in the InStyle fashion cupboard, where I was heavily involved in call ins, returns and liaising with the fashion brands of the capital, and also got to take part in a video shoot for the website which was fab. During that month however, in a moment of weakness I made a few purchases from ASOS after needing some retail therapy.

I have to say I'm feeling particularly happy with how these shots have come out, considering I dared to get my stomach out in May! It was a sunny day and I was desperate to get this top into a shoot, which is one of my cheeky ASOS purchases. The candy stripes are so sweet and exactly the style I will be going for in the summer - it is part of a coord with a skirt which I will definitely think about purchasing in the future so I can be a little pink candy stripe over summer. With the side bow tie detailing being what makes the top unique, it required a bralet underneath to add another layer with the temperature just not warm enough yet. Naturally I have quite a choice of items to pair with this pastel pink in my wardrobe, however at the risk of baring too much skin, jeans was the safest option; enter these gorgeously soft white jeans. They are probably 3/4 length on really tall girls, however with me and my little legs they are the perfect length and for once there is no gathering at my ankles, which is my usual problem with jeans. I teamed this look with some of my favourite staple summer accessories: pink sunglasses and strappy heels. This hot pink lipstick is a new purchase from Maybelline's Colorsensational range in 'Power Peony'. Love!

With Coachella in full swing this weekend, I took the opportunity to style a festival look which doubles as a 60's costume for a party last night. Although I'm desperately wishing that I was there soaking up the LA sunshine and music, it's definitely the best excuse to dress up and experiment with hair and makeup. It seems so long ago now, but last summer I did a few festival looks (see here), and attempted to do a crimped hairstyle. It dropped out pretty quickly, so learning from my mistakes I was able to create a longer lasting crimped look with more impact and volume by leaving the plaits in for longer and starting with wet hair. I went crazy with glitter and sparkly eyeshadow, as festivals are the best excuse to go a little wild and as always, sparkle needed to be part of the look!

H&M's latest collection, H&M loves Coachella, is absolutely on point for festival wear this summer. I struggled to pick only a select few pieces to buy, as almost the entire collection went into the changing room with me. It's so reasonably priced and great quality; it filled me with that kind of happiness that only a girl can get when shopping. Loose wide leg trousers are an item I have not tried before, but as I was in an experimental (you could almost say a hippyish open-minded) mood, I thought I would give them a try. I was so pleasantly surprised at their soft and loose material and flattering shape; at £15 they were a necessary purchase. Crop tops are excessively bought and added to my wardrobe during the sunny season, which explains this cut out patterned top. The high neck is perfect whilst I'm still without a tan, (although it would look even more fabulous when sun kissed) and layered over a green lace bralet here allows it to stand out, although it could be worn with any kind of bralet or small crop top. Paired with lots of silver jewellery including a body chain to layer up with some necklaces, I created an eclectic look fit for the Coachella dessert. I thought I'd post 3 different headwear options; the first is the classic circular sunglasses, the second a more toned down floral headpiece, and the third a major statement headpiece featured last summer (here) which I chose to wear for the party. See what you think!
